Alabama Incident Leaves at Least 4 Dead and 18 Injured

A manhunt is underway in Birmingham, Alabama for multiple shooters who killed four people and injured 17 in a violent incident on Saturday night. Police Chief Scott Thurmond revealed that the shooters fired upon a large group of people before fleeing the scene. Among the deceased were identified as Anitra Holloman, Tahj Booker, and Carlos McCain, all residents of Alabama. Authorities believe that the shooters were targeting one individual, who was among those killed. Investigators suspect that at least one fully automatic weapon was used in the attack. The shooting took place outside a lounge in Birmingham’s Five Points South nightlife district. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene during which gunfire erupted while people were waiting in line to enter the venue. Several people sustained life-threatening injuries and had to be treated in nearby hospitals. The incident marked the second mass shooting in the city this year. Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin called for change and emphasized the need for a solution to America’s gun violence epidemic. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are collaborating on the investigation. Police are appealing to the public for information and urging business owners in the area to review security footage that might be relevant to the case.
