Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports is seeking energetic winter volunteers to train as instructors for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports. The organization provides year-round sports and recreation for people with disabilities, allowing them to enjoy outdoor activities in Vermont. Volunteers will undergo online and on-snow training to learn how to adapt equipment and teaching techniques for individuals with disabilities. Winter programs include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more at various locations throughout the state.
Volunteers should be at least 16 years old and have intermediate-level skiing or snowboarding skills. In return, they will receive benefits such as free skiing, discounts, and professional development opportunities. Program director Felicia Fowler emphasized the rewarding experience of helping individuals rediscover their passion for sports and abilities.
