Vermont Women’s Basketball Set to Face Manhattan in Home Return
BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont Catamounts women’s basketball team returns to home turf for the first time since November 16, ready to take on the Manhattan Jaspers at 12:00 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the game live on ESPN+ or tune in for free on the Vermont Sports Network via WVMT radio, which broadcasts locally on 96.3 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 620 AM across the region.
The Catamounts aim to bounce back after a narrow overtime loss to Bucknell, finishing 62-59, despite Anna Olson’s standout performance as she netted her first 20-point game of the season. Overall, Vermont holds a favorable 5-1 record against Manhattan, though they suffered a setback last season with a 53-43 defeat, where Keira Hanson led the Jaspers with 11 points.
This season, Olson leads the team with an average of 15.2 points per game, followed by Hanson and Bella Vito with 10.3 and 9.4, respectively. Vito also tops the team in rebounding with an average of 5.6 boards per game. Vermont is currently in the midst of a multi-game homestand, aiming to capitalize before entering conference play, where they will host three consecutive home games.
On the other side, Manhattan arrives with a strong 6-2 record, having secured six wins in their last seven outings. Key players include Petra Juric, averaging 12.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, alongside Nitzan Amar and Hana Muhl contributing significantly to the scoring. With potential for a competitive matchup, both teams are eager to make an impression as they continue their season campaigns.
