McIlroy had a shaky start, hitting a double bogey on the first hole, but managed to regain the lead with birdies on holes 15 and 17. Despite struggles on holes 11-14, he avoided a collapse similar to the 2011 Masters. The next major tournament in golf will be the PGA Championship in May.
