The letter, penned on lined paper, follows her arrest on February 16, 2025, in Frostburg, Maryland, alongside companions Jack LaSota and Daniel Blank. All three individuals have pleaded not guilty to charges including trespassing and firearm possession.
Zajko, now 32 and owning property in Derby, earlier faced federal firearms charges in Vermont. Prosecutors allege that she supplied weapons connected to a fatal shooting incident involving federal agents. Additionally, law enforcement has questioned her regarding the recent deaths of her parents.
In her poignant letter, Zajko denied the murder accusation, stating, “I didn’t murder my parents,” but refrained from providing further details. Zajko also criticized the conditions at the Allegany County Detention Center, claiming inadequate medical care and poor nutrition.
Kati Kenney, an Allegany County spokesperson, cautiously responded, stating that Zajko reported no injuries while incarcerated, and added that a vegan meal option was offered to her.
Zajko’s letter also distanced her group from others associated with violent crimes, claiming they do not identify as "Zizians" and emphasizing camaraderie with LaSota. Her assertions paint a picture of a close-knit but misunderstood community.
