BOSTON – Four Catamounts Recognized in America East Year-End Awards
The America East Conference has announced its year-end awards, honoring four standout student-athletes from the University of Vermont Catamounts. Among the honorees are Lydia Doraz, Sabine Godwin, Caitlin Haggerty, and Meghan O’Connor, each making significant contributions to their respective teams this season.
Sophomore attacker Lydia Doraz secured a coveted spot on the All-Conference Second Team after leading the Catamounts with 43 goals, positioning her sixth in the America East. Doraz also shone with a remarkable free position percentage of 66.7%, ranked ninth in the nation, and averaged 4.4 draw controls per game, placing seventh in the conference. In addition to her goals, she contributed 12 assists and 24 ground balls throughout the season.
Defensively, Sabine Godwin also received an All-Conference Second Team nod, marking a strong campaign as Vermont’s defensive cornerstone. The sophomore defender achieved a career-high 75 draw controls, leading the Catamounts and ranking second in the America East. Godwin also made her mark with 16 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
Freshman attacker Caitlin Haggerty was recognized on the All-Rookie Team, making an immediate impact in her first year. She scored 23 goals—second among America East freshmen—and added 14 assists, which ranked third on the UVM team. Haggerty also contributed with 10 ground balls.
Rounding out the awards, graduate midfielder Meghan O’Connor was named to the America East All-Academic Team, boasting an impressive 3.93 GPA in Human Development and Family Studies. O’Connor ranked second on the team with 37 goals and recorded 11 assists during the season.
These accolades highlight the exceptional talent and dedication of the Catamounts as they continue to evolve in the competitive landscape of collegiate athletics.
