Rainy Weekend Events to Brighten Up Green Up Day

Despite a rainy forecast featuring showers and below-normal temperatures today, the weekend offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy in the region. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 40s to mid-50s, with some areas in the northern Saint Lawrence Valley hitting mid-60s.
In Barton, Vermont, the Mother’s Day Craft Fair at the Barton Academy and Graded School promises a unique shopping experience. With over 30 local vendors, professional photographer portraits, raffles, and student-run concessions, the fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., making it a perfect spot to find a special gift for Mom.
South Burlington invites residents to participate in Green Up Day, a community effort to clean up local parks and streets. Participants can pick up trash and join the celebration at 577 Dorset St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with rewards including free ice cream and grilled goods courtesy of the Champlain Valley Lions Club.
Ticonderoga, New York, offers a historical experience at the Real Time Revolution Living History Event at Fort Ticonderoga. From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can learn about 18th-century life through guided tours and live demonstrations.
On Sunday, Rockingham, Vermont, hosts the Herricks Cove Wildlife Festival, featuring nature walks and hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meanwhile, fans of pop culture can compete at the "Star Wars Trivia Night" at the 14th Star Brewing Co. in St. Albans, running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., complete with themed beer and prizes.
Lastly, Plattsburgh commemorates fallen heroes at the 10th annual Tour de Force Charity Run and Bike Race, starting at 7 a.m. with various race options, followed by an awards ceremony at 9:15 a.m.
