Vermont Community Foundation Celebrates Women’s Leadership and Gender Equity
Warren, VT – The Vermont Community Foundation proudly showcased the Vermont Women’s Fund at a recent event hosted by Lawson’s Finest, marking International Women’s Day with a focus on gender equity in business and philanthropy. Attendees included influential women business leaders, including keynote speaker Emily Bush, Director of the Vermont Women’s Fund, and a diverse panel featuring Karen Colberg (King Arthur Baking), Sas Stewart (Adventure Dinner), Libby Parent (Vermont’s Original Bag Balm), and Sascha Mayer (Mamava).
CEO Adeline Druart opened the event by encouraging attendees to engage, connect, and find inspiration in the stories shared. “You’re here because you want to be hopeful and inspired,” she said. Emily Bush emphasized the importance of amplifying women’s voices: “When women succeed, we all do.”
The panelists delivered heartfelt insights from their personal and professional journeys, with Sas Stewart stating, “It’s like 50% believing in yourself and 50% having it reflected back at you.” Libby Parent highlighted the power of authenticity in leadership, while Karen Colberg reflected on her grandmother’s influence on her work ethic.
In addition to celebrating women’s contributions, the event spotlighted Lawson’s Finest Social Impact Program, which collaborates with local nonprofits to foster community betterment.
