Suspicious Death in Swanton Leads to Arrest
SWANTON, Vt. — The Vermont State Police have identified the suspect and victim in a suspicious death case that unfolded early Saturday morning in Swanton. Michael Shedrick, 52, was arrested late Saturday night in connection with the murder of Joshua Many, 37. Shedrick is charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in St. Albans court Monday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the scene on Fourth Street shortly after 3:15 a.m., following multiple 911 calls reporting an emergency. Upon arrival, police discovered Many deceased inside the residence. A full-scale investigation commenced at the site; officials believe the incident was isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
