Operating a retail outlet in Omaha, Yamaguchi identified a significant gap in the market as many of her customers traveled over an hour from areas like Sioux City and Cass County for cultural essentials. This insight drove her to establish a more localized store in Atlantic, effectively catering to a diverse clientele.
Since receiving the keys to her store in March, Yamaguchi and her family focused on sourcing a curated selection of products tailored to the needs of the community. TCJ Micro Mart features an array of ethnic foods, clothing, and jewelry that reflect the rich heritage of Micronesians and other Pacific Islanders.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM, and offers the added convenience of online ordering and delivery for its customers.
