McDonald’s Revamps Menu with ‘Best Burger Initiative’ for 2025
In response to mixed reviews on its burgers, McDonald’s is set to launch its "Best Burger Initiative" in 2025, aiming to improve its offerings incrementally. Recently, Reddit users voted McDonald’s burgers the worst among 14 fast-food chains. To combat this perception, the company plans to implement 50 small yet significant changes, including enhancing bun toasting, introducing grilled white onions, and increasing the amount of signature sauce on Big Macs.
With a staggering 6.5 million burgers sold daily, McDonald’s believes these minor tweaks can be easily adopted across all its locations. CEO Chris Kempczinski revealed to The Wall Street Journal that he also intends to accelerate the introduction of new signature burgers, diversifying the menu while still focusing on customer satisfaction.
Beyond burgers, McDonald’s is devising a comprehensive strategy to reclaim customer loyalty. Appointing its first restaurant experience officer, Jill McDonald, the company aims to enhance operations from a management perspective. Following the trend of simplifying recipes, McDonald’s is also revamping its lemonade, which will now contain only lemon juice, pulp, and cane sugar to elevate taste.
Moreover, McDonald’s is launching a "McValue" menu in January 2025, offering customers the chance to add a second menu item of equal or lesser value for just a dollar. This initiative, alongside localized and app-exclusive deals, underscores the chain’s commitment to providing customers with better value.
As McDonald’s embarks on these initiatives, it demonstrates a careful balance of innovation and tradition, keen to enhance both customer experience and satisfaction without losing its foundational appeal.
