Upcoming Vermont State Playoffs Kick Off for Local Spring Sports
BRATTLEBORO — The 2025 Vermont state playoffs for spring sports are set to commence on Tuesday, featuring several local teams eager to showcase their talents in Divisions 1 through 4.
In baseball, No. 11 Brattleboro will face off against No. 6 Essex in the Division 1 first-round matchup on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The winner will progress to the quarterfinals scheduled for Saturday. Meanwhile, in Division 3, No. 3 Bellows Falls will host No. 14 Windsor at home on Tuesday, starting at 4:30 p.m., with the victor advancing to the quarterfinals later in the week. Twin Valley also hosts a key matchup against Poultney, with the first pitch slated for Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
In the Division 4 bracket, No. 4 Leland & Gray is set to host No. 5 Rivendell in the quarterfinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Softball action features No. 5 Bellows Falls taking on No. 12 Vergennes in a Division 3 play down on Tuesday, while No. 8 Twin Valley hosts No. 9 Craftsbury. Leland & Gray, positioned at No. 3 in Division 4, will also compete against No. 6 Poultney on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
In lacrosse, Brattleboro’s boys and girls teams both face off against Spaulding and Burlington, respectively, in the play down rounds on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Tennis tournaments include a matchup where No. 6 Brattleboro battles No. 11 Rice, set for Tuesday. The rising Brattleboro ultimate team is also poised for action against Rice on Wednesday.
Track and field championships are slated for Burlington High School, with the Division 3 meet on Thursday and the Division 1 championship on Saturday, both prominent events for local athletes.
