Montpelier, VT – The Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets is launching a complimentary three-part webinar series aimed at enhancing sales and margin goals for independent and co-op food stores during turbulent economic times. This initiative is facilitated through Small Bites and the Vermont Grocers Project, featuring expert insights from Jeanie Wells, a nationally recognized leader in retail food.
The webinar series, suitable for all interested in retail food sales, will be held weekly from 3:00 – 4:00 PM EST, beginning on June 12. The topics include:
- June 12: Practical Strategies for Growing Sales
- June 19: Managing Pricing and Margins in Uncertain Markets
- June 26: Implementing Category Management in Small Stores
Participants are encouraged to pre-register for this invaluable opportunity to engage in interactive discussions and have their questions addressed by an expert.
In addition, the Rich Earth Institute will host an On-Farm Field Day in Brattleboro, VT, on July 10. This event will delve into a three-year study examining innovative agricultural practices using sanitized human urine and other organic amendments to enhance soil health and crop yields.
Moreover, local producers and food hubs have until June 27 to apply for USDA grants aimed at revitalizing local food systems and improving market access.
