ABC Journalist Terry Moran Leaves Network Following Controversial Stephen Miller Social Media Post

Terry Moran, a journalist with ABC News, has been let go after he referred to Stephen Miller, a senior White House official, as a “world-class hater” on social media. ABC News announced that it would not renew Moran’s contract, stating that his post violated the network’s policies. A spokesperson emphasized the importance of objectivity, fairness, and professionalism in their journalism.

In his deleted post, Moran criticized Miller, who served as deputy chief of staff for policy during the Trump administration, labeling him as integral to the “Trumpist movement” and framing his motivations as based on hatred rather than intellect. He further claimed that Miller’s “hatreds are his spiritual nourishment” and suggested that former President Trump shared similar traits, using hatred as a means to achieve personal glorification.

The post drew backlash from notable figures, including Vice President JD Vance and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. In response to the controversy, ABC suspended Moran on the same day the post was made public.

Moran was a prominent figure at ABC News, serving as an anchor for ABC News Live and a senior national correspondent, where he covered major events including the U.S. Supreme Court. He joined ABC News in 1997 and has held various esteemed positions within the organization, including that of chief foreign correspondent. His dismissal highlights ABC’s commitment to maintaining journalistic standards amidst the polarized media landscape.
