Celebrities Respond to LA Protest Opposing ICE Detention Policies

Artists and Activists Rally Against ICE Amid National Guard Deployment in LA

Los Angeles, CA – In the wake of President Donald Trump’s deployment of 2,100 National Guard members and 700 Marines to Los Angeles, prominent artists and activists have voiced their outrage over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation raids and have shown solidarity with local protestors. The operation, dubbed Task Force 51, aims to maintain order amid escalating unrest.

Celebrities such as Eva Longoria and Mark Ruffalo took to social media, condemning the National Guard’s presence. Longoria described the actions as “Un-American,” while Ruffalo criticized the targeting of low-income individuals. His viral Instagram post garnered over 200,000 likes, with support from fellow celebrities like Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry.

Musicians Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day and Tyler, The Creator expressed their anger through social media as well, with Armstrong sharing protest footage and issuing a middle finger emoji, while Tyler boldly stated, “FUCK ICE.” Actress and singer Reneé Rapp echoed similar sentiments, condemning the government’s actions in a direct post.

Among the most notable responses, Grammy-winning artist Finneas, brother of Billie Eilish, attended a protest where he claimed to have been teargassed. He shared a video depicting a reporter getting shot with a rubber bullet, confirming tensions on the ground.

The political fallout has also intensified, as Governor Gavin Newsom announced plans to sue the federal government, labeling the deployment an “unconstitutional act.” He criticized Trump’s strategy to federalize the National Guard, warning that such actions could extend nationwide.

As the situation continues to unfold, the voices of artists and community leaders grow louder, reflecting widespread concern over civil liberties and state intervention.
