Oshawa Generals Goaltender Jacob Oster Commits to University of Vermont
Oshawa, ON – The Oshawa Generals announced on Monday that standout goaltender Jacob Oster has committed to the University of Vermont for the upcoming NCAA season. A native of Manotick, Ontario, Oster has had a remarkable tenure with the Generals, solidifying his reputation as one of the top goalies in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
In his second full season, Oster achieved a record of 32 wins, 17 losses, and 4 overtime losses, boasting an impressive 2.81 goals against average (GAA) and a .904 save percentage (SP) across 53 regular season games. His contributions were pivotal during the Generals’ playoff run, where they reached the OHL Championship, with Oster maintaining a play-off record of 13-8, 3.20 GAA, and .885 SP.
Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection by the Guelph Storm, Oster has accumulated 196 games throughout his career with both Guelph and Oshawa, achieving a cumulative record of 100-64-17, alongside a 3.15 GAA and .895 SP.
As he transitions to the Catamounts, Vermont is set to gain a player who is expected to make an immediate impact on their roster.
