MONTPELIER, Vt. – Vermont continues to affirm its status as the leading state in maple syrup production, with over 3 million gallons produced in 2025, consistent with the previous two years. In 2024, maple syrup production generated an impressive $95 million, marking a significant increase of $16 million compared to the previous year. Vermont Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbetts praised the producers for their perseverance through a challenging season characterized by irregular sap runs. "They’ve delivered a high-quality, sweet product for the world to enjoy," Tebbetts stated.
The average retail price for a gallon of syrup in 2024 was approximately $58.30, reflecting the premium quality associated with Vermont maple syrup.
