Springfield Moose Lodge Raises Funds for Meals on Wheels
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Springfield Moose Lodge 679 held a successful chicken barbecue on Saturday, May 3, raising $893 for Meals on Wheels of Greater Springfield. A lively crowd gathered to enjoy delicious food and music from the Stringfield Springers, showcasing the community’s support for a worthy cause.
The Moose Lodge is committed to aiding the most vulnerable members of the community, particularly children and seniors. For several years, the lodge has organized annual fundraising events to benefit the local Meals on Wheels program as well as the Springfield Department of Children and Families. Jessica Corliss, president of the Moose Lodge, expressed pride in their achievement, stating, "Our second annual chicken barbecue generated a donation to Meals on Wheels which surpassed the previous year, and we hope it continues to grow each year going forward."
Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization relying on volunteers to deliver meals to qualifying seniors and individuals in the greater Springfield area. The organization is currently seeking new volunteer drivers, requiring only a one-and-a-half-hour weekly commitment.
