After De La Cruz exercised his right to remain silent, agents forcibly broke the vehicle’s window to detain them, raising concerns about the legality of their actions.

During a protest on the Burlington waterfront, organizers emphasized solidarity with the detained workers, highlighting their contributions to the local community. "We want them to know they’re not alone," stated Migrant Justice organizer Abel Luna.
