Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2025: A Celebration of Celebrity and Slime
The 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards are set to kick off on June 21 at 8 PM EST, broadcast live on Nickelodeon and available to stream the following day on Paramount+. Since its inception in 1987, this kid-voted event has entertained audiences with its unique blend of celebrity appearances, vibrant performances, and, of course, the infamous green slime.
Over the years, numerous celebrities have graced the stage as hosts, including the likes of Ben Stiller, Justin Timberlake, Jack Black, and John Cena. This year’s event will be emceed by the talented Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Tyla.
Notable past hosts include comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who holds the record for most consecutive hosting stints—eight in total between 1997 and 2003. The late Whitney Houston brought her legendary presence to the event in 1995 and 1996, while actor Josh Duhamel had his turn in 2013. Mark Wahlberg famously claimed he was "slime proof" during his 2014 performance, but he still faced an avalanche of the signature goo.
Recent years have also seen athletes stepping into hosting roles. Noteworthy is Rob Gronkowski, who co-hosted the show in 2022, becoming one of the few athletes to do so, and the iconic animated duo, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, who co-hosted last year.
