Rutland Evergreen Cemetery Receives Generous Volunteer Support from GE Aerospace
Rutland, VT – The Rutland Evergreen Cemetery Association extends heartfelt gratitude to over 60 GE Aerospace volunteers for their dedicated service on May 22, where they revitalized the historic Evergreen Cemetery. Braving the heat and humidity, these volunteers made a significant impact by straightening, repairing, and cleaning more than 200 monuments throughout the burial ground.
Among the areas that received special attention was the “pauper’s” section of the cemetery, where many monuments were successfully up righted and restored, showcasing the volunteers’ commitment to honoring the legacy of those laid to rest. Their altruistic efforts not only enhanced the appearance of the cemetery but also demonstrated a profound respect for the community’s history.
