St. Johnsbury Man Arrested for Sledgehammer Assault
SAINT JOHNSBURY, VT – A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbing incident involving a sledgehammer. Aaron Stevens faces two charges from the St. Johnsbury Police Department: aggravated assault and unlawful mischief.
The arrest occurred on June 18, when officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Mount Vermont Street. According to police, Stevens allegedly used a sledgehammer to inflict harm on an individual and also caused significant damage to the hood of a vehicle parked nearby.
Stevens was taken into custody and cited for the charges before being released. He is scheduled to appear in court in August for an initial hearing.
